You know that when we bought this house, it was supposed to be a stepping stone to THE HOUSE. You know the one, that we buy when we sell house #1 and cash out our equity for what we didn't even know we
There are many factors keeping us in our house ~ And with this year being our TENTH year in our home - isn't it
But in the meantime, since applying to be on the home improvement shows has turned out to be nothing but a waste of my time...
(I still love watching them - don't get me wrong! I just wish I had the skills and the creative thinking required to pull off even ONE room!)
I figured it's time to take matters into my own hands...Have you ever watched those 'designed to sell' type shows? The ones where a couple of people come into your home and 30 minutes later it looks like a completely different house? Yeah. That.
I've often said I
And so, without further a~do
...da da DAH!
I can hardly contain my excitement about my upcoming meeting with Karen of Su Casa Redesign!
Her services include:
INTERIOR REDESIGN * REAL ESTATE/HOME STAGING * DESIGN & COLOR CONSULTATIONS * ORGANIZATION * MOVE-IN SERVICES * SHOPPING SERVICES * SEASONAL DECORATING *
WINDOW TREATMENTS * GIFT CERTIFICATES & MORE
FRIENDS!! WHERE DO I START! ? !
I'm soo nervous to have Karen over to our house! She's going to walk right in here and fall over - wondering where to start! Redesign, color consultation, ORGANIZATION!
We don't have a focus *yet* - because quite frankly - our entire house could stand a once over...so I'm going to leave it all in the hands of Karen, and say a little prayer that she'll have something up her sleeve.
Will she solve my (only window on the west side of our house) blind dilemma? Faux wood or honeycomb? Single or individual? Curtains or no curtains? All I know for certain is she will audibly gasp when she sees what's still hanging there 10 years later...
I have a new paint color picked out for our bedroom but am waiting to run it past Karen before I commit - I saw it up on the walls of a friend's house and LOVED it - but the paint chip scares me!! Maybe she'll be able to figure out how to arrange furniture in our awkward shaped bedroom or living area? Maybe our master bedroom will become our retreat?
Karen often works with what people have in their homes and told me that I'd be surprised at what she can do with that. That sounds BRILLIANT, but I am not opposed to making some purchases to do this properly. I just need someone to point OUT said purchases. We really should have a headboard on our bed - but the wonky ledge around our room has stopped me from doing that...will my thinking be changed next week?
I am so excited about the possibilities...
Mi Casa is Su Casa...
Come along for the ride won't you?

Sounds so exciting! I'm a bit overwhelmed thinking about a house and needing to decorate it for us! We are still white wall handmedown furniture people for now!
Oooh, how fun! I think our "starter" house is going to turn out to be a little longer-term than we first envisioned, too. I can't wait to hear what you learn!
that sounds like so much fun! what a great idea. it's amazing what a little paint and rearranging can do for a room, let alone a house! can't wait to see "before" and "after" pics on the blog so make sure you take some!!!
p.s. i'm still waiting to win the HGTV Dream House :)
I love this! I have no eye for anything so I feel your pain. My aunt has a natural talent at this same thing so I have her come over from time to time to help with things. I always watch her and think, "How can she envision that?" If we end up selling our house this year she said she'd stage it for us. She already said, "It will mean you rent a storage locker for most of your stuff." Perhaps we've crammed a few too many things into our tiny house.... Good luck! I can't wait to see all the before and after photos!!!!!!
JEALOUS! We are also in our stepping stone home making some adjustments for #3 and now with #3 think this will be our FOREVER home. Until the kids are gone and we can buy something that will stay nice. Good for you!
we're stuck in our starter home too, now two kids later. Most of what we need is remodeling, not redesign, but I'm curious how this turns out for you. We want to convert the attic into a bedroom for the three year old, and that room could actually use non-structural design help.
How fun! I never think about it that way, reusing something from another spot. I may need to step back and look again.
Can't wait to see what you guys do!
