A year filled with some of the highest highs and lowest lows I have ever experienced...I know I am not alone...
2010 High/Low Lights...
January
- had me praying for one of my oldest and dearest friends as she found herself amidst the rubble in the earthquake in Haiti - Incidentally, Joanna left for Haiti again this past weekend. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers...
- Later this month - 40 local bloggers would band together to package food at Feed My Starving Children. We had no idea when it was set up that there would be a devastating earthquake and that our hard work would go to feed the people in Haiti.
February
- We kicked off the month in Orlando Florida at our first family vacation to Disney World!
- I became a team leader for the first ever Cards for Cancer project - who knew that just 6 months later I would be burying my own mother, who died after a 7 week battle with the Big C.
March
- March marked 2 years since the passing of Liz Logelin, 2 years since a whole bunch of us banded together to form some amazing friendships.
- The Child Hunger ends here Campaign was kicked off -
April
- Spring came early this year and we enjoyed many things in bloom -
- The timing was perfect as I found myself once again struggling with City Life
May
- We kicked off our Live Butterfly Gardening & our own personal Summer Bucket List & we worked together as a group to Fight Child Hunger
June
- I found myself the recipient of a gardening grant from the City in which I live - and the phone call that would change my life forever - the call that said my mom had had a heart attack, was unresponsive, and was at the hospital...
July
- Trips were made to and from North Dakota as I spent time with my mom. A devastating diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer would forever rock my world. July would be the last time I would be able to converse with my mom.
August
- Even though we were told we had six months, maaaybe a year...after just seven short weeks, we said good bye to my mom as her life here on Earth ended.
- Easily the hardest month of my entire life is how I sum up August of 2010.
September
- Volunteering for The annual events of the Liz Logelin Foundation help to take my mind off of my own problems - another successful event raises $40,000 for those who find themselves in the unthinkable position of widow/widower.
October
- Even though it doesn't seem possible, our baby girl turned 5.
- We did the usual fall things...getting ready for the winter...
November
- We beat the winter blues by taking in Monster Jam - and my hubs taking part in MoVember.
December
- We wrap up the month & we just keep swimming, just keep swimming...We take a mini vacay to the Metropolis Resort...
- Our baby boy turns four - WHAT? Four! And we get ready to send our girl off to school -
There are the highlights of my 2010 - When I look back I see more lows than I want to...
So here's hoping that 2011 brings many many more ups than downs...
