Birthday Wishes for our little Misses...

Well, another year come and gone...
Our little princess just turned five years old...

How did that even HAPPEN?

At five you get to invite over a gaggle of girls and play dress up and wear costumes and paint your fingernails and do all things girly right???

Not if you are our girl you don't...

Despite being given several options...A tea party, a princess party, a superhero party (so her boyfriends could come), a party at Pump it Up or the Gymnastics Place or even the infamous

Giant Rat Place...

Our girl adamately requests her parties be at home...where anyone and everyone can come and feel welcome...

So...I set the table with some flowers from the yard...

And the usual spread of meatballs, cheese, crackers, veggies, chips, dips...etc & this year we went with walking tacos over sloppy joes...and wouldn't you know it, if D didn't demand a sloppy joe just before the party!

I can never win!!

Thankfully we had plenty of cupcakes!

We enlisted the older girls' help to paint faces...

Although these two didn't need any help...they found an old mirror in the garage and got busy decorating their own faces!!

And we did a couple of little crafts...

But the real fun seems to be just playing and being a kid...

The kids all seemed to have a great time...and even though this isn't H's *boyfriend* (yes, she does say she has one - it's just not this guy) I can't help but hope that these two will always remain close friends...

In fact, when she was busy making her wishes...

I was busy making mine...
