Taking on Target Field

Friday, May 28, 2010

The weather has been just GLORIOUS in Minnesota...and we couldn't of picked a better day to hop on the light rail train and head into downtown Minneapolis and watch the Twins play at Target Field.

Speaking of Twins - Everyone asks us if these two are...Some days, depending on who has had a growth spurt that week - we get asked if these two are soo very often! Not quite 15 months apart in age will do that I suppose...

The Yankees were in town - and thanks to a rain out after 5 innings the night before, we got 4 bonus innings before our ticketed game! SCORE!

And, as luck would have it, our kid's name sake, Jeter himself, cracked a beautiful home run in his first at bat!

We literally got the last seats in the house. Literally. Section 301. Row 16. No joke-we were the last row of the stadium...which worked out pretty well actually for us at this stage of the (life)game...nice cool breeze up there, kids able to watch not only the game but could stand up and look behind us and scope out the trains, etc etc

Tickets still weren't cheap and pretty damn hard to get - especially for four of us...so we sort of went all out -

The kids wanted their faces painted...so we obliged...

And what game is complete with out the ice cream sundae in the mini Minne Twins hat?
She also couldn't wait for a Dome Dog, reminding us over and over "It's just a hot dog but we just call it that"

It was all in all a great night - perfect weather for outdoor baseball in a GORGEOUS stadium - catching extra innings of my boys' two favorite teams on the field...
And a little of this hot action didn't hurt...except it did...
after snapping a few shots of this guy with my SLR...my camera DIED.
It has been sent off to the Canon Factory in hopes it can be resurrected...if not...well then...
now I know better for next time not to take smokin' hot bun shots...

When we get to Target Field, I think we'll aim for those seats too. Our kids would love looking at the trains when the game doesn't hold their interest anymore. Although, usually a big tub of popcorn keeps them happy through a whole game.
