Burnsville Fire Muster - More Free Fun!

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

This past weekend was the Burnsville Fire Muster - Don't ask me what that is - all I know is it's the City of Burnsville's Annual Festival -
I had a baby shower to attend before we headed out to the fire muster...and I must say it did get awfully cold seeing as how we got there after dark...and it got late for the kiddos - See what happened DURING the fireworks finale?? Noise and all - he didn't even know where he was!!

We had a good time at the Fire Muster - spending Friday night visiting with our neighbor friends outside the Nissan Bus (an RV type thing that most likely cost 10x the price of my home and is much much NICER than my home) and wandering around people watching - trying to stay warm before fireworks.

I think big D. might actually be yawning here...

There were several fire trucks lined up spraying water to a light show which was pretty cool to watch...and some CRAZY kids were actually running THROUGH the water - thankfully, not my kids...not this year anyway! I know my trusty point and shoot camera doesn't do these pictures justice but hey - I'm trying...

The fireworks were cool - even if one kid DID fall asleep during them...

On Saturday I headed out for a fitness walk...only I was MEETING my neighbor friends there so by the time I got the kids and stroller loaded up...first I was going alone, then just with the boy, then the girl wanted to come...sheesh...well, I ended up missing the whole damn thing.
oh well...

The finale of the Fire Muster was the parade...which included "famous people" such as my neighbor Gary who is the GM at Walser Nissan here in Burnsville...

And Al Franken - whom I didn't get a picture of - Betsy...can you send me yours to use on here??

There was also Abby - our next door neighbor girl marching along in the parade...

The Jumbo Shopping Cart was pretty cool -

As were the loot buckets we left with - (See big sister picking out of HIS bucket!)

The gnat type bugs that found us halfway through the parade were NOT cool - WTF!

And even after he put political stickers on Denny's legs...OUCH!

He still got to enjoy the parade on Denny's lap...*While Denny and Betsy helped him to fill his bucket way too full of candy!*

Never in a million years did I think the Twin Cities - or Burnsville - would be my *home* and now, ten years after moving here from North Dakota - I think I am finally ready to say it is...With neighbors/friends like these...How could home be anywhere else? (Thanks for everything you guys!!

That looks like so much FUN! It's still too hot here to do a lot outside...
