Santa Claus is Comin' to Town...

Santa Claus is coming to town. In August. Really. ok - so he's not really COMING to town. Here's here. In August. We aren't even to Labor Day yet and there sits Santa at many local retailers. Kids aren't back to school yet...I've barely turned in my "stuff the bus" school supply drive donations...but Christmas is in full force at many stores in the area.
Good luck picking out a Halloween Costume for your little one when it's hidden by the Christmas stuff...
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE Christmas - it's my all time favorite holiday...but do we really need Christmas in the summer? I haven't even made it to the state fair yet this year...

No wonder I feel so overwhelmed...like my head is about to spin right off my body at any given time...
it's hard to enjoy the now when we are constantly being rushed from one thing to the next...
I need a vacation...

We were planning on taking a (forced - daycare is closed) family vacation next week and had planned on heading back to Warrens to The Three Bears Resort that we loved so much in June...only today they gave me a courtesy call to let me know that the indoor water park will not be open on weekdays anymore, the restaurant will be closed as well, blah blah blah...but they are compensating the guests by offering a complimentary golf cart rental. What the F! So if it's raining, I cannot take my kids indoors to the giant water park...but I can run them around the resort on a complimentary golf cart, in the rain? So is it worth taking a vacation to a resort where there may or may not be nice enough weather to play in an outdoor water park, and if it's not nice - we can watch tv inside or ride around in the rain on a golf cart?? Great vacation.

It's no wonder I feel like punching someone in the face today.
