I built this team...

A few years back Rob's "softball captain" made this comment during an "arguement" at a party and it was pretty darn funny - "I built this team and I can build another one!"
Well, today I "built this team!" The boys softball playing days have rotated around from Inver Grove to Golden Valley to Richfield to Savage. And while they no longer have Gmann as their captain they were doing ok in their new "league". It was nice having the games a hop, skip and a jump over in Savage, not to mention the kickin' playground they have at the softball complex. As they awaited news as to when they would have a "practice" and when the first game was - the new "Captain" was busy at home playing Guitar Hero or something - a guy with no kids and a wife who travels like 75% of the time couldn't get the paperwork in to get their team going - silly since all you have to do is fax in a roster and pay the league dues - spots are hard to come by and returning teams are grandfathered in provided they pay the dues!! Too late now as the season starts next week - Well, on a whim I shot off an email yesterday to the Burnsville Rec director - turns out they had a team drop out last minute and have a spot for my man and his team so, I gave him my credit card and am in the process of building the team! (Ok, I'm not personally building the team but Rob and Ryan are!) Shame on you bad Captain man! It was NOTHING to throw it together - you can't miss out on summer softball! I need Rob out of the house as much as he needs to get out! You miss one season it's that much easier to miss the next one, and so on and so forth - Plus, where will I take the kids to run off their steam and eat sand? My little Derek Jeter needs to learn the ins and outs from his Big Poppy!
So...Tuesday nights in the Burnsville League this year - Anyone want to sponser a team?? Hopefully this will be the start of many many summers in the Burnsville League! One of the fields is a mere BLOCK from our house! WHOO HOO! I can make Rob take the kids in the stroller while I stay home and play in the garden...ok, maybe not really...but yeah - this could be a ton of fun! Good luck boys - We're rooting for you!
